The work I create takes part in the evolutionary cycle of Native American pottery. As a modern creator, I form pieces such as mugs, bowls, plates, and vases, while utilizing ancient methods of glazing.

Artist's Full Biograpy

Allyson Stumpf is a member of the Wahzhazhe (Osage) nation and spent a majority of her life residing in Northeastern Oklahoma. Currently she practices ceramics in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. After receiving her bachelors of Fine Arts at the University of Oklahoma, she is well versed in both drawing and ceramics. Her work consists of a love for animals and the ongoing journey of self discovery. The nature of her work is inspired by her personal experience as an indigenous American. During the summer of 2023 Allyson will be working alongside Karin Walkingstick to develop and explore the process of traditional pottery making. These sessions will be beneficial in Allyson’s development of her own voice within Native American traditional craft.
