Rhonda E. Williams is an award winning artist and the great granddaughter of the last hereditary chief of the Otoe Missouria tribe, Ralph Dent and Madge PettitDent. She was given her great grandmother’s Indian name “Whoo gra-do’-ame,” meaning “the four main support poles of the tipi” (homemaker). Rhonda uses this symbol of the four poles as part of her signature on all of her artwork.

Williams has been creating art from a young age and currently works out of the White Stallion Studio, a home based studio in Edmond, Oklahoma. Her work is showcased in many group exhibits and is also held in private collections and galleries

Rhonda has developed her distinctive artistic style by contrasting tribal designs with various contemporary art forms. She creates her work in mixed media, acrylics, clay and sculpture. Her paintings present a traditional design with a contemporary flare that incorporates clay, bone beads, horse hair and various textures with a blend of bright alluring colors keeping with the traditional themes. Her unique artistic style is particularly evident in her “Horse Blanket Series.”
