Artist's Full Biograpy

As an artist rooted in my Citizen Potawatomi heritage and informed by my experiences around mental health and post-traumatic growth, my work is a dialogue between the past and present, a space where tradition intertwines with modernity and personal history gains meaning in a wider story. My acrylic paintings, marked by their busy and asymmetrical deviations from traditional Potawatomi florals, are a reflection of my intentional engagement with symbolism and the complexities of the human psyche. Each layer of my paintings is improvised, intended to evoke the interior landscapes of the mind and the broader spectrum of body autonomy. I am driven by a desire to explore and articulate the nuanced experiences of women and feminine figures, integrating ancestral connections into a visual language that resonates with both contemporary and traditional audiences— or, in other words, walking in two worlds.
